Rules that prevent most complaints
Most giveaway disputes come from a missing detail: a deadline with no time zone, a prize that was not described, or a rule added after the draw.
- State the deadline with date, time and time zone.
- Describe the prize exactly, including who pays shipping.
- Say how long the winner has to reply and what happens if they don't (alternates).
- Include that the giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Instagram.
- Do not ask people to tag themselves in photos they are not in: Instagram's guidelines forbid it.
